The Beginning!

The Annual Juneteenth Community Festival is a community event celebrating the collective efforts of our community, more specifically African Americans, who contribute their talents to improve the local quality of life. This event is a display of commitment to multiculturalism and serves as an outlet to learn about American history, reflect on progression and serve as a reminder to remain committed to social harmony.

2015 – The Inaugural Juneteenth Community Festival

The 1st Annual Juneteenth Community Festival had many goals, employed many strategies and involved a lot of people. With great teamwork and execution, the 1st Annual Juneteenth Community Festival saw over 1,900 visitors. In addition, the event was featured on the front page of the Bolingbrook Reporter and mentioned in the Bolingbrook Patch and MySuburbanLife and added to countless event calendars. Facebook and BBJuneteenth.com carried our event’s mission and messages to over 700+ people within five months. The event featured 21 vendors and sponsors and six live performances from high school to live band performances.
